KABATEC - Combining forces in Burghaun, Germany

30 July 2018

KABATEC has been part of the Komax Group since July 2016.

The acquisition of KABATEC was a logical and long-planned development from a business strategy standpoint, and it was shaped by many years of cooperative involvement between the two entities. With the acquisition of KABATEC, Komax is filling an important gap in its own product range and at the same time once again underlines its leading position in the global market.

Passionate commitment and innovative spirit as well as a sure feeling for global markets and their requirements make KABATEC a highly esteemed partner in the field of taping and bundling technology. KABATEC is active worldwide, opening new markets and offering its customers – principally from the automobile industry – customized full-system solutions for processing cables and wiring of all sorts. The company's core business includes taping and bundling machines as well as the planning and realization of special customer-specific equipment solutions.

KABATEC combines years of experience with the most modern technology. Continual development and innovation guarantee a high level of product safety and functionality. KABATEC was founded in 2008 under the leadership of Heinz Billing and Markus Reisinger. With perseverance, boldness and ambition they swiftly succeeded in establishing the company on the international market with 15 employees. This start-up success was not solely the result of a multitude of technical innovations. The realization of business goals has also been the product of flexible, highly motivated and well trained employees making their contribution over the years.

From start-up to established company

The company's business development gives ample cause for optimism. Since its founding in 2008, annual revenues have increased more than tenfold. The plant extension built at the company's Burghaun/Germany location in 2015 is already reaching the limits of its capacities. To secure further market share on a long-term basis, for even more efficient production of existing products as well as for the development of new, future-oriented automation solutions, a further expansion of the company is necessary. As this move is undertaken, the company affirms its commitment to its Burghaun location.

The merger with the Ondal Tape Processing GmbH – also acquired in 2016 by Komax – is the next major milestone in the company history. Both companies share an eventful development in the recent past, which in turn provides a great quantity of experience and potential for the future.
